Quality Inspection & Documentation
Quality on a forging line is a system, not a final gate. Ours runs from incoming material verification through in-process checks at every stage to final dimensional layout, with the paperwork an automotive or export customer needs generated as part of the same flow.

Quality Inspection & Documentation at a glance
Quotable facts from Avadh Techno Forge, Gundasara, Gondal, Rajkot.
- Quality System: ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 aligned
- Documentation: PPAP, PFMEA, control plan, FAIR

In-Process Control, Not Just Final Sorting
Billet weight, forging temperature, die condition, forged weight, heat treatment hardness and machined dimensions each have their own check frequency and record. Catching drift at the forging stage costs a die adjustment; catching it at final inspection costs the whole batch.
- Billet weight and temperature checks
- Forged weight sampling per shift
- Hardness verification after heat treatment
- Final dimensional layout
Documentation Packages
We prepare PPAP submissions, control plans, PFMEA, process flow diagrams, gauge R&R studies and first article inspection reports. For export shipments, the pack typically includes material certificates, heat treatment charts, dimensional reports and NDT certificates under one batch reference.
Traceability From Billet to Box
Every batch carries its heat number from the steel supplier through forging, heat treatment, machining and packing. If a question arises after delivery, we can reconstruct exactly which billet lot, which die, which furnace charge and which machining setup produced the part in question.
In-Process Control Points
Quality on a forging line is decided while the parts are being made, not at the end. Each stage has its own check, frequency and record, because catching drift at the forging stage costs a die adjustment while catching it at final inspection costs the batch.
| Stage | What is checked | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Incoming material | Spectro analysis against mill certificate | Catches grade substitution |
| Billet cutting | Cut length and weight | Controls cavity fill and forged weight |
| Heating | Billet temperature by pyrometer | Governs fill, die life and grain size |
| Forging | Forged weight sampling, die condition | Detects die wear and drift early |
| Trimming | Flash line condition | Detects cold trimming and cracking |
| Heat treatment | Furnace chart, hardness | Confirms properties were developed |
| Machining | Dimensional checks against drawing | Confirms conformance to specification |
| Final | Dimensional, NDT, marking, documentation | Release gate |
Sampling, 100% Inspection and Gauge Control
Inspection level should follow consequence. Safety-critical parts — steering, braking, suspension, lifting — receive 100% magnetic particle inspection and full dimensional verification. General engineering parts are inspected to a documented sampling plan agreed with the customer. Whichever applies, the gauges themselves must be trustworthy: measuring equipment is calibrated, and for automotive work, measurement system analysis establishes that the gauge and operator can actually discriminate the tolerance being measured.
- 100% inspection where failure risks life
- Documented sampling plans elsewhere, agreed in advance
- Calibrated gauges with recorded calibration status
- Measurement system analysis for automotive characteristics
The Documentation Package
Every batch can be released with a documentation set tied together by its heat number: material test certificate, heat treatment chart, hardness results, dimensional report, NDT certificate where applicable, and a certificate of conformity. For automotive customers we prepare full PPAP submissions including control plan, PFMEA, process flow and capability studies. For export orders the pack also carries the commercial and packing documents. See forging quality documents.
People also ask
What documentation accompanies a production batch?
Material certificate, heat treatment chart, hardness results, dimensional report and NDT certificate where specified, all referenced to the batch and heat number.
How long are quality records retained?

Questions Answered
Do you supply PPAP documents?
+
Yes, full PPAP level 3 packs are prepared for automotive customers, including control plan, PFMEA and dimensional results.
Can our inspector visit before dispatch?
+
Yes, pre-dispatch inspection by customer or third-party agencies is arranged on request.
How long are records retained?
+
Batch records including material, heat treatment and inspection data are retained per our quality manual and made available on request.
Do you do 100% inspection?
