Mining Equipment Forging
Mining runs continuously, in the most abrasive environment industry produces, often far from any supply chain. Component reliability is not a quality metric there — it is a production planning input.

Continuous Operation Changes Everything
A mine running three shifts cannot stop for an unplanned part change. Forged components are specified because their failure behaviour is predictable — they wear to a measurable limit rather than fracturing without warning.
- Predictable wear, not sudden fracture
- Verified by NDT before dispatch
- Long service intervals
- Consistent batch-to-batch life
Abrasion Engineering
Working surfaces are hardened to resist rock abrasion while the core stays tough enough to absorb the impacts that come with it. The hardness gradient, not peak hardness, is what determines service life.
Parts We Supply
Crusher hammers, jaw components, conveyor sprockets and shafts, drill rod adapters and subs, screening hardware, heavy pins, bushes and lifting components.
Continuous Operation Changes the Specification
A mine running three shifts cannot stop for an unplanned part change, so components are chosen for predictable wear rather than for peak performance. A part that wears to a measurable limit lets maintenance be scheduled; one that fractures without warning does not.
| Requirement | Why |
|---|---|
| Predictable wear behaviour | Allows planned change-outs |
| Tough core | Survives impact without fracturing |
| Hardened surface | Resists rock abrasion |
| NDT on critical parts | No hidden defects in components that cannot fail |
| Consistent batch-to-batch life | Maintenance planning depends on it |
Diagnosing Wear Before Changing the Specification
When a customer asks for longer life from a mining component, the first step is examining the worn part. Parallel scratches indicate abrasion and call for surface hardness; chipping indicates impact and calls for toughness; galling indicates adhesive wear and points at lubrication or material pairing. Changing hardness without identifying the mechanism frequently makes the problem worse. See premature wear in forged parts.

Questions Answered
Do you supply crusher wear parts?
+
Yes, forged hammers, jaw and impact components made to sample or drawing.
What is the heaviest mining part you can forge?
+
Up to 300 kg on the open die and press routes.
Can you improve on our current part life?
+
Often yes — we review the failure mode, then adjust grade and hardness profile. Send a worn sample with the enquiry.
Do you supply directly to mines?
+
We supply mines, equipment OEMs and their maintenance contractors.
