CNC Turning Services
CNC turning is where most forged components acquire their functional geometry — bores, seats, threads, grooves and sealing faces. Our turning cells run forged blanks in dedicated soft jaws so the forged datum is captured once and every subsequent feature stays true to it.

CNC Turning Services at a glance
Quotable facts from Avadh Techno Forge, Gundasara, Gondal, Rajkot.
- Maximum Turning Diameter: 500 mm
- Maximum Shaft Length: 1,000 mm
- Tolerance: ±0.02 mm
- Threads: Metric, BSP, NPT, API
- Live Tooling: Yes
- Minimum Batch: 25 pcs
Turning Capability
Chuck work to 500 mm diameter and shaft work between centres, with live tooling for cross-holes, flats and keyways in a single setup. Fewer setups means fewer datum transfers, which is precisely how concentricity is protected on multi-feature parts.
- Chuck capacity to 500 mm
- Between-centres shaft turning
- Live tooling for milling and drilling
- Single-setup multi-feature work
Threads, Grooves and Sealing Faces
Metric, BSP, NPT and API threads are cut and gauge-verified. O-ring grooves, snap-ring grooves and flange sealing faces are produced to the surface finish the seal actually requires, not merely to the nominal dimension.
Batch Sizes and Programming
Programs are written offline from customer 3D models and proven on the first article. Once proven, the same program and fixture are recalled for repeat orders, which is why our second and subsequent deliveries are consistently faster than the first.
Turning Capability and Typical Features
CNC turning is where most forged components acquire their functional geometry — bores, seats, threads, grooves and sealing faces. Live tooling allows cross-holes, flats and keyways to be produced in the same setup, which matters because every additional setup is another opportunity to lose concentricity.

| Chuck capacity | Up to 500 mm diameter |
| Between centres | Up to 1,000 mm |

| Live tooling | Cross-holes, flats, keyways in one setup |
| Threads | Metric, BSP, NPT, API, gauge verified |

Holding Concentricity on Forged Blanks
A forged surface is not a reliable datum: it carries draft, a parting line and variable stock. The practical method is to machine a datum in the first operation, then hold the part in soft jaws bored on the machine itself for the second, so runout is not inherited from the rough forged surface. Sealing faces and bearing seats are finished to the roughness the seal or bearing actually needs rather than to the nominal dimension alone — a distinction that decides seal life more than the seal specification does.
People also ask
What is your maximum turning diameter?
500 mm chuck capacity, with shaft work between centres up to 1,000 mm length.
Do you cut and gauge threads?
Yes, metric, BSP, NPT and API threads, all verified with go/no-go gauges and recorded on the inspection report.

Questions Answered
Do you take pure CNC turning job work?
+
Yes, on customer material or ours, with incoming inspection either way.
Can you turn stainless steel forgings?
+
Yes. SS 304, SS 316 and SS 410 are turned regularly with appropriate inserts, speeds and coolant strategy.
How do you hold concentricity on forged blanks?
+
By machining a datum in the first operation and using dedicated soft jaws bored on-machine for the second, so runout is not inherited from a rough forged surface.
Is thread gauging included?
+
Yes, go/no-go gauging is standard for all threaded features and recorded on the inspection report.
