Forged Pump Components
Pumps combine rotating loads, pressure containment and often corrosive fluid in a single machine. Forged shafts and housings deliver the fatigue strength and pressure integrity that keep a pump running between scheduled overhauls instead of between breakdowns.

Pump Shafts Under Combined Load
A pump shaft carries torsion, bending from hydraulic side load, and axial thrust simultaneously, all while spinning at speed. Forged shafts in EN19, EN24 or SS 410 provide the fatigue margin that a bar-turned shaft cannot guarantee.
- Combined torsion and bending duty
- Ground bearing and seal seats
- Straightness verified after hardening
- Corrosion-resistant grade options
Seal Faces and Gland Areas
Mechanical seal seats demand tight surface finish and runout control. We grind these areas rather than turn them, because seal life is decided by the quality of the surface running against the seal face.
Materials for Corrosive Service
SS 304, SS 316 and SS 410 for chemical and water applications; duplex grades where chloride attack is a concern. Grade selection is confirmed by spectro analysis on every heat lot.
Pump Component Capability
A pump shaft carries torsion from the drive, bending from hydraulic side load and axial thrust simultaneously, while spinning at speed. Combined fatigue is the design driver, and seal seat quality determines whether the pump stays dry between overhauls.

Why Seal Seats Are Ground, Not Turned
Mechanical seal life depends on the surface running against the seal face, and a turned surface — however dimensionally correct — carries a spiral lay that draws fluid along it. Seal seats are therefore ground and their runout verified, because a seal failure returns as a warranty claim against the pump rather than against the shaft. Grade selection follows the fluid: SS 410 where hardness and mild corrosion resistance are both needed, SS 316 where chlorides are present.
- Ground seal and bearing seats with verified runout
- Straightened after hardening, then finish ground
- Stainless grades handled separately from carbon steel
- Impeller hubs supplied near-net to reduce machining

Questions Answered
Do you make stainless steel pump shafts?
+
Yes, SS 410, SS 304 and SS 316 shafts are forged and ground regularly for water and chemical service.
Are seal seats ground?
+
Yes, ground to Ra 0.4 µm with runout verified, because seal life depends on that surface.
Can you make pump parts from a worn sample?
+
Yes, via reverse engineering including grade identification by spectro analysis.
What is your minimum quantity for pump components?
+
Single pieces on the open die route for replacements; production batches from 200 pieces.
