Defence & Aerospace Ground Support Forging
Defence procurement demands documented traceability from the steel mill to the delivered part, verified mechanical properties on production-representative samples, and inspection discipline that survives audit years later.

Traceability as a Deliverable
The paperwork is part of the product. Heat numbers, forging route sheets, heat treatment charts, NDT reports and dimensional records are compiled per batch and retained, because a defence audit may arrive long after delivery.
- Complete billet-to-dispatch records
- Production-sample mechanical testing
- Full NDT with certified reports
- Records retained for audit
High-Integrity Process Route
Elevated forging ratios, controlled heat treatment with recorded charts, and testing on samples cut from production parts rather than separately forged coupons — the practices that distinguish defence work from commercial supply.
Parts We Supply
Vehicle suspension and drivetrain forgings, lifting and handling hardware, mounting brackets, pins, linkages and structural components for ground support equipment.
Traceability as a Deliverable
In defence supply the documentation is part of the product. Records must reconstruct what happened to a batch years after delivery, because an audit or investigation may arrive long after the parts are in service.
| Record | What it establishes |
|---|---|
| Steel heat number and mill certificate | What the material was |
| Forging route sheet | How it was worked, including reduction |
| Heat treatment charts | What thermal cycle it received |
| Mechanical test results | Properties, on production-representative samples |
| NDT reports | Internal and surface soundness |
| Dimensional records | Conformance at the time of release |
Testing on Production-Representative Material
A distinguishing feature of high-integrity work is where the test sample comes from. Testing a separately forged coupon proves what the steel can do; testing material representative of the production part proves what that part actually is. Where the specification requires it, samples are taken from production forgings, and the results reported against the same heat and batch numbers as the delivered components.

Questions Answered
Can you meet defence traceability requirements?
+
Yes. Every batch carries complete records from steel heat number through forging, heat treatment, machining and inspection.
Do you accept government inspection?
+
Yes, government inspectors and TPI agencies are accommodated at our works by appointment.
Is mechanical testing done on production parts?
+
Where the specification requires it, samples are taken from production-representative forgings rather than separate coupons.
What lead times apply to defence orders?
+
Longer than commercial work because of the documentation and testing content — typically six to ten weeks including approvals.
